This is a topic that I really love to discuss: Sabbath.
The Sabbath is an intrinsic part of the divine program for human happiness. Our bodys and minds, need to rest. How know it better than our Creator? That's why He separeted a day as a gift for us. "God saw that Sabbath was essential for man, even in Paradise" (Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets, pp. 47).
But a question is always raised: Why can't we rest on Sunday, or another day? Why must be the Sabbath? The answer is: Only Gos can create, and only He can make something holy. This is why Adventists object so strongly to the change from Sabbath to Sunday as the Christian day of rest and worship. Jesus himself kept this day. Why do people think that He changed the sacred commandment?
Many people think that day is a boring day. They say: "You can't watch TV? You can't...you can't....That's a lot of prohibitions. It's too bad!" They don't know how they are wrong! Those who have respected this divinely instituted rhythm have been blessed by it. This day never must be a day mainly associated with prohibitions and restrictions. The sabbath is not intended to be a period of useless inactivity. Man is to leave the occupations of his daily life, and devote those sacred hours to healthful rest, to worship, and holy deeds.
I'll tell what I do that day (or what I intend to do): First, I wake up and go to church. There I sing beautiful musics and hear about heavenly subjects. The lunch is special this day, and my family stay toghether laughing and talking about many things. After I stay with my boyfriend and my friends. We read some passages of the Bible and discuss about them. It's pretty good! It's indeed the best day of the week! I really want that everybody feel it too. It was designed to be a blessing to man, a day of physical rest, but also a day devote to spiritual exercises.
The Sabbath is God's gift to humanity!
Sabbath is really a gift. And how can you show that you enjoyed the gift? Just use it...use the Sabbath to make a relantionship with God, to forget the world and remember His Love.
ResponderExcluirGod bless us in the next week.
